 Home activity idea: Sheep have fleece, learn about what the covering on other animals is called?

October: Little Miss Muffet

 Home activity idea: Little Miss Muffet ate curds and whey, try and find out what curds and whey really are.

November: One, Two, Buckle my shoe 

 Home activity idea: In the story the shoes have buckles, look around the house and see if you have anything that has a buckle.

December: Old Mother Hubbard 

 Home activity idea: Look through the grocery store sale ads and cut out pictures of the foods you need to buy and glue them on a piece of paper to create a picture shopping list.

January:  Hickory Dickory Dock

 Home activity idea: Talk about what you do at differnt times every day. Is there anything that you always do at the same time?

February: Itsy Bitsy Spider

 

Home Activity: Walk around your house and look to see if you have a water spout like in the story. Talk with your child about what they might see in thier water spout. Help them draw a picture or write down thier onbervations or ideas. Talk about why buildings need water spouts.

March: Jack and Jill

 

 Home Activity: Look for materials around your house to create ramps. Place differnt objects on the ramp and observe how they react. Do they stay at the top of the ramp?, do they slide or roll down?.

April: Humpty Dumpty

 

 Home Activity: Look for oval shapes around your house. Talk about how ovals and circles are the same and different. Create your own puzzles out of cereal boxes to encourage your child to "put something back together".
